The greatest single privilege and blessing this side of heaven which our loving heavenly Father has bestowed upon His born-again children is prayer. We can readily see how true this is when we consider the absolute incredible benefits of prayer in our lives:
- Prayer is a child talking to his father – Matthew 6:9
- Prayer is communion with our loving heavenly Father, Ruler, and Supreme Head of the Universe – Hebrews 4:16.
- Prayer is the means whereby we receive God’s greatest gift – the gift of the Holy Spirit- Luke 11:13.
- Prayer is the means whereby we enter into the Throne Room of Heaven – Hebrews 4:16.
- Prayer is asking and receiving – Matthew 7:7.
- Prayer is the means whereby God’s children receive all the riches of His blessings in Christ Jesus – Matthew 7:11.
- Prayer is the ordained means by which His children overcome worry – Phil. 4:6-7.
- Prayer is the way we stay in the battle of life and not give up – Luke 18:1.
- By prayer we experience the unthinkable, the unknowable, and the miraculous – Jer. 33:3; Ephes. 3:20.
- Prayer results in the fullness of heavenly joy – John 16:24.
- Prayer is the energy that enables the Christian soldier to wear the armor and wield the sword of the Spirit, which is the Word of God – Ephesians 6:19-20.
- Prayer is the pathway to spiritual healing (salvation) and physical healing – James 5:14-16.
- Prayer is delightful – Hebrews 10:19-20.
- Prayer can be dreadful – Isaiah 6:1-8.
- Prayer is difficult – Romans 15:30.
- Prayer is desperation – Genesis 32:22-32.
- Prayer is defeated – Isaiah 59:1-2; Psalm 66:18.
- Prayer is detested – The devil fears when he sees the weakest saint upon his knees.
