Exodus 3:2-5
Joshua 5:13-15
LIFE APPLICATION QUESTIONS

In Joshua 5:14, when Joshua encountered the Commander of The Lord’s Armies (Jesus), Joshua immediately yielded control of his life and his call to The Lord Jesus which was shown by him falling down on his face in submission and worship. When he realized that he was dealing with The Living God he quickly and gladly gave up his command position to the One who was truly in charge. In contrast, in Ex. 3:2-5 when Moses encounters God for the first time, he did not fall down on his face. He was afraid, hid his face, and argued with God, but he did not immediately fall down in submission and worship like Joshua did. Why the difference? This was the beginning of Moses’ relationship with God. He did not yet have any prayer habits. He did not have the Word of God yet. He did not have a personal relationship with God like Joshua had when he encountered Jesus. Consequently, we see 2 different reactions out of Moses and Joshua to the same Lord. Please think and meditate on this.
How quickly do YOU either literally or figuratively fall down in submission and worship when you encounter The Lord and He reminds you that He is the Commander of your life (no matter what the circumstances may be)? Is your reaction more like Moses’ or Joshua’s? We as the redeemed children of God have the Word of God. We have free access to our Father through prayer. We have the gracious ability to develop a personal relationship in our “Jesus time.” In what types of circumstances or situations in your life are you reluctant to immediately yield control of your life to your Commander? And what does the current status of your personal level of intimacy with Him have to do with your reaction in these types of circumstances? Be detailed in your response.
