ARE YOU A RIVER OF LIVING WATER

• In Matt. 5:6 – Jesus promised that the thirsty shall be filled.
• John 7:37-39 describes this fullness.

Brief description of Feast of Tabernacles

Jesus stands up and shouts out “If any person….

Jesus is talking about the Holy Spirit.

Jesus says this fullness is promised in the Old Testament.

• Ezek. 47 illustrates this fullness under symbolism of a River.

River flows from House (Temple) – You and I are Temple (I Cor. 6:19).

River flows: Beneath threshold (Humility) – By the altar – (Holiness) -Toward the East, The Sun – Hot

3 Features of River-

1. The Source – described immediately above.
2. The Course – the river is made personal by relating it to human body:
   1. the ankle (v. 3) – walking
   2. knees (v. 4) praying
   3. loins (v. 4) power
   4. our heart – 5- fullness
3. The Force

River flowing into death (dead sea)

• We know this river is the fruit of the Holy Spirit which consists of 9 Mighty Rivers – Gal. 5:22
• The 9 Rivers is a picture of the Character of Jesus

Conclusion:

1. Is your life a River of Life to the depressed, deserted, dead?
2. Look around – do you see people in desperate need of life?
