AN HONEST BIBLICAL “CHECK UP” ON HOW I AM DOING IN MENTORING
1 Timothy 4:16; Luke 8:18; 2 Cor. 13:5
God in His Word commands His people to “check up” on the state of their relationship with Him. For instance, Jesus said to His disciples, “Take heed how you hear” His Word (Luke 8:18). Paul commands Timothy, “Watch your life and doctrine closely…if you do you will save both yourself and them who hear you.” (1 Timothy 4:16). The great Apostle commanded the whole congregation in Corinth, “Examine yourself to see if you are in the faith. Test yourself.” (2 Cor. 13:5). Even the pagan Plato wrote “An unexamined life is not worth living.” Thus I have felt led to ask you to “examine” or “check up” on yourself as relates to mentoring. This is not for condemnation, but for the sake of your soul. Please be honest. What you share will be kept confidential by your leaders. Thanks very much.
