Disciple-Making [Part 3]

MEMORY WORK
  • Colossians 1:28-29 (responsible for this one)

ASSIGNMENT

Are you more comfortable with:

  • Spontaneous?
  • Structured?
  • Why and Why not?

Of the 3 basic methods, which comes the easiest to you and why? Which is the hardest? Why?

  • Discipleship moments
  • Situational discipleship
  • Intentional Disciple-Making

Are you open, or willing to be open to being used by God in all 3 of these?
Or have you closed yourself off from one or more of these?

DISCIPLESHIP 
  1. Be an example/witness for Christ
  2. By encouraging
  3. Sharing Scripture for the purpose of God revealing Himself
  4. Following Jesus’ example to be an example
  5. Being a Mom (ladies table)
  6. Meeting with people 1 on 1 investing in their lives
  7. The person I work with
  8. 1 on 1, be an example, group, class
  9. Role model at work, encouraging, reading Scripture at work, coming alongside one another, displaying the fruit of the Spirit, being the light.
  10. Be a Christian example, develop a personal relationship with someone and be willing to teach and lead in a 1 on 1 relationship.
  11. Live it
  12. Real, transparent Jesus-centered time together.
  13. Being involved in someone’s life, an example of Jesus’ commands, teaching them His commands.
  14. Look for receptive folks
  15. Coming alongside, encourage, being deliberate
  16. Telling your own testimony
  17. Study the Word, commit it.
  18. Get out of myself, (ps. 40), pray for others.
  19. Stay attached to the vine, always be prepared to give, earn the right to talk about Jesus.
  20. Thinking about it, being vulnerable, (muslim friend)
  21. Teaming up with a mentor and hitting the streets
  22. Be available, be open, nonjudgmental, and humble in leading people
  23. Be authentic in our own walk when presenting ourselves to others, we come alongside and walk together.
  24. Allow The Holy Spirit to work thru you.
  25. Intentionally make time to invest/share life together.
  26. Being an example
  27. Sharing mentoring resources (M3?)
  28. Boldness
  29. Be discerning about if they want to really grow
  30. Influence
  31. Transparent, using my failures that Jesus has brought me thru
  32. Open about trials we have faced
  33. By your example
  34. Pray for them boldly
  35. Showing genuine concern
  36. Develop genuine relationships with others…dive deep
  37. Live life with someone
  38. Love others
  39. Call them to be disciples
  40. To be a friend
  41. Invest time to build a relationship and walk alongside someone, teaching and leading them. Have compassion, but always being truthful.
  42. Be like Jesus!
  43. Your daily example, exhortation
  44. Lead by doing what you preach
  45. Relationship level beginning with unconditional love followed by speaking the Word in truth and love
  46. Focus on who is listening and pour into them by coming alongside
  47. Start with intentionality, join God where He is at work.
  48. Intentionally meeting with an individual while explaining to them the truth and calling them to obedience.
  49. Intentionally meeting with others showing them and teaching them the truths of Scripture, and holding them accountable.
  50. For me to disciple someone looks like intentionally approaching someone who is a Christian at work and meeting with them regularly at work in the cafeteria or somewhere and helping them grow in The Lord. Encouraging, exhorting, and spurring on in teaching.
  51. To pour into someone, not only because we are called to do so, but because you love them.
  52. Teaching Christians to obey all that Jesus has commanded them.
