Mentoring Men for the Master (M3) – Jesus Film Partnership
M3 is a rapidly expanding international discipleship ministry with over 25,000
men and women that are being biblically discipled across 32 countries. M3
facilitates Biblical, relationship-based, weekly discipleship meetings (both
online and physical) to encourage, train, and equip believers to know and follow
Jesus. This is primarily done through M3-developed workbooks where trained
leaders walk alongside believers helping them grow in their walk with Christ
through speaking the word of God to one another, relationship, and mentorship.
In early 2024, M3 began a partnership with Jesus Film who empowers others to
share the gospel through showing the movie called “Jesus”. The film follows the
gospel of Luke showing Jesus’ life, ministry, death, burial, and resurrection as
well as an invitation to confess and follow Jesus as Lord.
Jesus Film Backpacks
In an effort to remove obstacles of sharing the gospel, Jesus Film began custom
making backpacks that include everything needed to show the Jesus film:
screen, projector, Micro SD card that stores the film, microphone, loud speaker,
amplifier, and a solar powered battery to operate everything. Jesus Film has
agreed to supply M3 with Jesus Film backpacks provided we seize opportunity to
use them.
As M3 has started using these backpacks to show the Jesus film in Kenya in
proximity to existing M3 discipleship groups, the response has been
tremendous. We are observing, in an average month, a team of 2-3 leaders will
show the film 18 times, 8,000 people will see it, and 1,275 will be saved! And this is
with only one backpack! Prior to the leaders coming into an area, there is
coordination with local churches so that those that make professions will be
baptized, welcomed into a local church, and enrolled into M3 to be discipled.
Jesus commanded in the Great Commission to both baptize (win to Christ) and
to teach (disciple) others. Both parts of the Great Commission are being fulfilled
here! Various factors can affect these numbers such as whether it is during rainy
season (March-May & Nov-Dec) or if the film has already been shown in the area.
There is still a great response if the film has already been shown in the area, but
not as significant as when it is the first time it is being shown there.
Jesus Film Kenya Gospel Covering Strategy
Based on the locations of discipleship groups in Kenya, we have divided the
country into several regions. Within these regions are qualified leaders who will
show the film for about two months and then hand off the backpack to another
leader. This enables the film to be shown in different areas and allows recovery
time for the leaders.
Jesus Film Partnerships
M3 is seeking partnerships with churches and/or individuals to sponsor the
monthly movements of these backpacks in order to fulfill the Great Commission
in Kenya and eventually across the African Continent as a whole. $500 will cover all the
monthly expenses associated with showing the Jesus film. This includes
travel, food, and accommodation (as the film needs to be shown at night and
travel is dangerous at night). The backpacks are durable, but, in case something
does happen, any replacement parts are supplied by Jesus Film at no charge.
Sponsors of these Jesus Film backpacks can expect weekly reports complete
with numbers of showings, attendees, and salvations, as well as photos and videos of
their team and the gospel activity. Due to the film needing to be shown at night,
the video and picture quality of the crowds are not optimal, but we are regularly
working to improve visibility such as providing solar powered lights that can
travel well.
We are also working towards making sponsorships available to facilitate the
weekly discipleship meetings of those who are being saved through the Jesus Film.
As we get more of a grasp on average costs of people beginning to be discipled
through this vehicle, we will communicate these opportunities as well.
Finally, below are links to some videos of preparing for the Jesus Film, the Jesus film being shown, and an invitation being given to believe in Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior in the local language. Check them out and be encouraged!
